  1. Musar says:
26 Big Ones The Beach Boys Popmeister POP First nine tracks are supposedly "soundcheck for Knebworth concert" and are pitiful in sound quality. Very similar to AM radio or a squashed MP3. Tracks are supposedly "the Knebworth concert.".
  2. Mogis says:
Touted by a highly suspicious media blitz ("Brian is Back!"), 's 15 Big Ones caught the nostalgic wave generated by the surprise success of Endless Summer and Spirit of America, the double-album compilations of the Beach Boys' mid-'60s, summer-music prime, and rode it close to the crest of the charts. One doesn't have to get much further than the tepid (albeit top 10) cover of Chuck Berry /5(10).
  3. Duran says:
This album marks the Beach Boys' departure from their dreamy and infectious surf music to some of the most celestial harmonies and melodies from their entire catalog. This is a seminal album from the era; any band who was a band in the US or UK at that time was heavily influenced by Pet Sounds/5(37).

  5. Fenrirn says:
This two-CD, track compilation is the best Beach Boys compilation for the money, even better than the multiplatinum Sounds of Summer: Very Best of The Beach Boys, which was released in SOUNDS OF SUMMER has only two tracks not found on this collection: "Come Go With Me" and the single version of "Be True To Your School," which does appear on the Greatest Hits /5().

REVIEW: This is a fine double-disc retrospective of the Wild Honey sessions. The song selection is interesting: "Cool, Cool Water" (which didn't appear on a Beach Boys album until Sunflower) starts out the set with the Beach Boys amazing harmonies (and after listening to the Smiley Smile sessions, it's good to hear the band sounding lucid once more), and then continuing on with a few takes of.
